Family Camp

At this time we do not have a family camp scheduled. However, if you are interested please call or email us.

What is Family Camp?
At Marannook family camp is an opportunity to get away from your daily routine and spend time together in God’s beautiful creation. You and your children can relax for a few days and concentrate on what’s really important—spending some time with each other and spending time with God. You’ll sleep in a cabin in the woods, eat great meals, and try many fun camp activities. You will also learn more about worshiping God together as a family through songs, skits and sharing.

Where will we stay?
In your own cabin with a private bath, climate control, and porch.

Should we leave young children at home?
No, you are welcome to bring babies; families have done it before with no problems. We’ll provide high chairs at meals and child care whenever you need it. Your children will be involved in camp activities with the counselors.

Will we have quality time together as a family?
Yes, parents and children will be together except on the morning of day 2, when parents will meet for Biblical teaching and discussion on family worship. On the evening of day 2, the children will enjoy a bonfire with singing, sharing, and s’mores with the counselors, while the parents enjoy a special candlelight dinner.

Special Times for Mom and Dad
On day 2, counselors lead the children through activities while parents meet together to discuss the challenges and opportunities they face as parents. They’ll get tips on conducting family worship and later have time alone to discuss ideas over an exquisite candlelight dinner! Your children will be enjoying hot dogs and s’mores at a bonfire with the counselors during your formal dinner together.

A Staff to Serve You
By all means, bring babies or small children with you to family camp! Our counselors are here to serve—and that means taking plates to your table, cleaning up spills, playing with toddlers…you name it. We want to help your family relax and enjoy each other. At the same time, the college aged counselors are able to learn from your family about the essentials of glorifying God through family worship and love.

What are some Family Camp activities?
You will shoot archery, ride the cable car, negotiate the Great Maze, tackle the Channel Challenge and weather permitting go swimming at the pool.

What should we bring?
Pillows, bed linens or sleeping bags, towels, washcloths, and casual clothes. You may want to bring rain gear, a sweater or jacket, and an extra pair of shoes. We will have books you can use for worship times in your cabin, but feel free to bring your own. And don’t forget your Bibles!
