High School Staff

Team Marannook

Become a part of the best team!

The Support Staff at Marannook is an exciting opportunity for High School students. They will have an opportunity to grow in their relationship with Jesus, create lifelong friends, and serve others with love. While on staff you will participate in nightly interactive Bible studies and support the mission of Marannook through your service.

Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep. Psalm 127:1-2

Questions?

We've got answers

Room & Board

  • What is the living situation like for High School Staff?

    • High School Staff stay in air-conditioned cabins for a comfortable environment during their time at camp.

Food

  • What food is provided during session?
    • We provide all meals during the session, with a few exceptions on weekends. On those weekends, you may have the chance to go off-campus for a meal. Bringing a little extra cash can be helpful, but since you’re paid at the end of each week, you’ll have funds available if needed. Leftover food is also available on weekends if you’d like to stay on campus to eat.

Phone

  • Can I bring my phone?
    • Yes, but you will not have access to it while on the job. Your phone will have a space in the Front Office at camp where you will have access to it twice a week for an hour to contact family.

Work Commitment

  • You are fully committed to Marannook for the session you are signed up for. Please do not arrange outside jobs.

Leaving the Camp

  • Can I leave camp during my session?
    • We understand you may have prior commitments (e.g., weddings, family events). If this applies to you, please share the dates in advance so we can plan accordingly to schedule you with the best session available!

Weekends

  • What happens during the weekends?
    •  High school staff will spend their weekends enjoying camp activities and rest while getting ready for the next week of camp.

Transportation

  • How do I get to Marannook?
    • High school staff are allowed to drive themselves to camp. Once your car is parked at Marannook it stays there for the duration of your session. When doing any activities off of camp property, all High School Staff will be driven by Senior or Full Time Staff.

Cost & Pay

  • Is there a cost to participate, and will I be paid?
    • High School Staff positions are made possible through the generosity of our donors, who want to see high school students grow in their knowledge and love for the Lord while serving others—so there’s no cost to you. You’ll also be paid for your work over the summer. Payment details will be discussed during the interview process.

Bible Study

  • What kind of Bible Study will High School staff be participating in?

    • The Kitchies will be lead in a bible study by the Kitchen director and Kitchen mom every morning. The Maintenance Men are lead in a bible study every morning by the Maintenance Men Director and Activates Director. This time is vital to a High School Staffers time.
