Thank you for your generous contributions! It is thanks to the generosity of people like you that we are able to keep the camp open and continue to share the good news of the gospel with counselors campers and the community.

Matching Gifts!

Many employers offer matching gift programs, which could potentially double or even triple your donation. If your employer participates, please let us know, and we’ll assist with the process. Matching gifts can also support capital campaigns or special dates like Giving Tuesday, where donations can be doubled. For more information, contact Taylor Teel at 334-864-7504.

Legacy Giving!

You have the opportunity to leave a lasting legacy of faith and impact by including Marannook in your estate plans.

Including Marannook in your estate plan ensures your legacy continues to benefit camp for years to come and alleviate inheritance tax burdens. Marannook can be named a beneficiary of your will or trust to receive a one time gift, yearly gift, or a percentage of assets. Even if you considered just giving 1% of assets to Marannook, you leverage your final will for the kingdom.

When you leave a gift to Marannook—no matter the size—you help equip college students to grow as disciples of Christ and invest in the lives of children through gospel-centered teaching and mentorship. Your generosity ensures that future generations will continue to encounter Jesus, deepen their faith, and carry His truth into the world.

Join us in shaping lives for eternity.

Giving through Retirement!

This is a popular option if you’re drawing income from a retirement account (such as an IRA or 401(k)), or are required to take Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) after age 70½, you can donate directly from your retirement account to Marannook through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). Use Your Required Minimum Distribution for Good.

Funds remaining in retirement accounts after your lifetime are heavily taxed if left to someone other than a spouse. Many donors choose to use their IRA resources for charitable giving, while leaving other less tax-burdened assets to family and friends.

With an IRA charitable rollover you can see, during your lifetime, the impact of your gift to be used for kingdom advancement.

Consult your financial advisor for more details, or have them contact us directly. You can learn more about QCDs at the IRS Website.

Gifts of Stocks

Donating appreciated stocks can offer substantial tax benefits. By donating stocks directly to Marannook, you can avoid paying taxes on capital gains, and your donation is tax-deductible. We will convert the stocks to cash immediately, ensuring your gift is put to work right away. It’s a great way to maximize your charitable impact while reducing your tax burden. While this can be immediate during your lifetime, you can also leave a legacy gift by a beneficiary designation to Marannook through stocks, bonds, brokerage accounts, mutual funds, or other bank accounts. Funds from these accounts will pass directly to the beneficiary and do not require a will.

Gifts through Sale of Business

f you’ve recently sold a business, you can make charitable gifts while managing your capital gains tax burden. By structuring your donation as a multi-year commitment, you can make a significant impact today while receiving the tax benefits for one fiscal year through a donor advised fund. There are many donor advised funds (DAF’s) to utilize. You will then be allowed to designate your charitable contributions to Marannook through the DAF.

Consult your financial advisor for more information or have them contact Taylor Teel at 334-864-7504.

Property or Vehicle Donations

Property Donations

You deed or bequeath your property, such as a home, vacation home, commercial building or investment property, to Marannook. Donating property offers various tax advantages, such as reducing capital gains tax, estate taxes, and the size of your taxable estate. Marannook can either sell the property and use the funds for the long term sustainability of Marannook or utilize the property for long-term plans (like timber management).

Vehicle Donations

  • 1. Itemize your deductions. When taking a car donation deduction on your tax return, you must itemize your deductions. There are specific guidelines about the amount that can be claimed. Marannook will send you a receipt of a donation in kind based on the fair market value of the vehicle through KBB.com.
  • 2. Use IRS Form 8283. If the fair market value or sale price of your vehicle is more than $500, you must fill out section A or the IRS form 8283 and include it with your tax return. We recommend you obtain an appraisal if the donated vehicles fair value exceeds $5,000.”
  • 3. Take pictures of your vehicle. Keep any repair and work receipts of your car and snap some photos of it before donating. You may refer to these when claiming your donation as a tax deduction.
